Gonzaga’s San Leonardo is one of the top wines of Italy, receiving top accolades for each vintage they’ve produced since their first bottling in 1982. Carlo Gonzaga’s family bought their historical estate in 1770 and he followed his passion for Bordeaux wines by planting their vineyards with all Bordeaux varietals. San Leonardo is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Carmenere and 10% Merlot aged 24 months in new and used French barrique. This is an elegant, finessed wine with silky layers of wild berries and hints of green pepper and vanilla. The aromatics and complexities of the wine linger on the palate for some time adding to its intense pleasure. This is a wine that will age extremely well.
