This B.A. or Beerenauslese (specially selected berries which are concentrated by botrytis) is a blend of Gewürztraminer, Müller-Thurgau and Riesling. These wines are some of the rarest and most labor-intensive bottlings in the world. Pale gold in color, with aromas of honey, honeysuckle, roses and apricot. On the palate, it is full bodied, thick and silky, very sweet but not sticky, balanced by fresh acidity and nice length. A fantastic value in B.A., pair with desserts like pies, cakes, and ice cream.

Gunderloch is one of the most revered estates in Germany's Rheinhessen. After 130 years of continuous operation, the estate is evolving once more. Johannes Hasselbach has been the proprietor of the estate since 2016, taking Gunderloch in a new direction with the resulting wines achieving levels of grace, balance, and natural energy not seen here before.

The estate has about 25 hectares of vines in some of the top vineyards of the "Roter Hang" ("red slope") area of the Rheinhessen appellation. In Nackenheim, they own the dominant portion of the grand cru Rothenberg (65% of the estate’s holdings) planted entirely with Riesling. Their GG (Grosse Gewachs, aka Grand Cru) from here is the flagship of the estate; their noble sweets from the site are legendary - like the one here.

The other part of their production comes from 5km down the road in Nierstein, where they work steep parcels of vineyards, known to lovers of fine German Grand Cru (GG)wines. Organic viticulture is practiced, and certification is being considered.
