Hammerling Wines 2022 "Summer Hum" Rose of Merlot, Gimelli Vineyard, San Benito, California

A winery that started in 2018 with the goal to produce cool climate sparkling wines with minimal intervention, this Summer Hum is a still wine they produce from 100% Merlot. Here you have a slightly feral Rose. Savory, meaty and loaded with herbs behind the plum and wild berry notes. I was completely enthralled by how cool this wine is, and how different from the rest. Unique and utterly lip-smacking.
