I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I think American winemakers make more interesting Rose from Italian varieties than the Italians do. Not trying to start a riot or anything and there are plenty of lovely Italian Rose out there, but the guys here in California that grow things like Dolcetto, Nebbiolo and the like, well they seem to have an extra special passion for these dry and delicate Roses. Another beautifully floral offering from Idlewild this vintage. Delicate jasmine and tart berries. Very light and easy on the palate with plenty of grace.
