Delicate notes of butterscotch with hints of candied apple. Subtle coco is paired with vibrant oak spice and suggestions of cherry wood. A light oak present on the finish, dries it up nicely.
Taking Whiskies that have been aged in Virgin American Oak, second use Bourbon Barrels and Iberian Sherry Barrels and blending them together, Jameson has made an Irish Whiskey focusing on what their 5th generation Cooper, Ger Buckley, loves the most; wood barrels. The result of this multiple wood aged Whiskey is a spirit with soft butterscotch and candied apple notes up front which coat the palate nicely. Light hints of oak spice and delicate coco flavors play well with each other while a cherry wood characteristics adds even more depth to the libation. While delicate in flavor, there are a lot of layers to this Whiskey, flavors that should be explored in a rocks glass and one ice cube.
