2018 is only the 2nd full scale vintage for Joseph Colin who broke away from the family estate to bottle under his own label in 2016. Joseph is another of those minimal intervention winemakers that like to let the wine be what it is and not to manipulate anything in search of a particular style. His wines show approachable when young which makes them seriously luscious and inviting right now. Deep stone fruits with touches of tangerine, salted cashews and a creamy lemon cream. Still lots of nerve but not so much acid that it requires much in terms of cellar time or long decanting. Beautiful and we think this could turn the eye of domestic Chardonnay fans as well.
