The aromas on this wine are intoxicating - wild strawberries, cherries, raspberries, rocky soil, white peach, and citrus blossom. On the palate, so very fresh, medium bodied with the cascade of fruit the same as the nose. Great match for crab and seafood.

This is a very classy sparkling rose that drinks well above its price and can go head to head with some of the great champagnes. The vineyards for this wine are located in Lorraine, France, unfortunately wedged between two powerhouse wine making regions - Champagne and Alsace. You don't hear too much about this region as not many of its wines are available for export.  Lorraine used to supply grapes to Champagne before its strict laws were passed.

Maison Crochet is in the quiet commune of Bulligny just southwest of the Lorraine itself. The having been producing wines and managing their own bed and breakfast for about 2 decades. Vine production here is fairly recent as most were destroyed during World War II. This release is mostly Gamay with Pinot Noir, all sourced from their own vineyards. Each vineyard parcel is vinified separately and blended with about 5% reserve wines. Wines are aged about 18 months. With only 4 grams per liter of sugar, they are still labelled Brut.
