On the nose, there is some barn yarn earthiness, but it doesn’t translate to the palate. A fun balance of savory and richness in flavor; black olives delicate rose petals and violets are equaled out with notes of cherries and coco. Maria Ganxa is a bit of a pop-culture reference in Spain, she was a warning sign parents would put on things they didn’t want their children to get into (bleach, harmful chemicals, etc.). When Toni Ripoll took over the family winery, becoming the 7^th generation Winemaker, his father warned him not to make a wine that was 100% Carignan. Toni uses Maria Ganxa on his label to show a warning his father gave, but he did not listen.
