There are a handful of Australians - spending decades at Yarra Yerring in South Australia - making quite a splash with their wine making skills in Burgundy. Mark Haisma is without question one of those. He has established himself as such a skillful and talented winemaker that he has garnered the favor of many Burgundians, including those with some spectacular vineyards, so he is given access to some truly top quality fruit. The vines he owns average 50 years old and are grown on classic stony soils.

Very small quantities of wine are made - micro-cuvees are a specialty, and he is also a thriving negociant with a loyal market for his wines. All of his wines speak directly to the terror from which they are made.
