Until recently, Arneis had been a very misunderstood grape, and some say penalized for it.  People used to think it simple and average.  Then things changed. In the last twenty years, understanding of the appropriate ripening processes, care in the vineyard, attentive and careful winemaking have resulted in tremendous leaps in quality. Matteo Correggia has led the way. With experimentation, it was realized that skin maceration and use of the screw cap yielded extremely fine results for this wine, and popularity has surged. Arneis translates to 'little rascal.'

Grapes are grown on fine sand soils with low silt and clay deposits at 230 - 280 meters in altitude. Fermentation takes place in 100% stainless steel vats with protection from oxygen.  30% of the batch is macerated on its skins. The resulting wine is aged 4 months in stainless steel vats before fining and bottling.

Very fresh on the nose with crisp Bosc pear, grapefruit, green apples, with a hint of fennel and oyster shell limestone. The palate is lusher with spiced pears, Golden apples, white nectarines, and notes of dried herbs with a clean mineral finish.  Pair with seafood, shellfish, salads, vegetable dishes, Asian noodle dishes.
