This Orange wine is a blend of Welschriesling, Pinot Gris, and Traminer all given 5 to 7 days of maceration on the skins. Certified biodynamic farming, spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel, no filtering or fining, and very low sulfite additions. With notes of apricots, peaches, and grapefruit, this orange wine retains its refreshing lightness with a little body due to maceration on skins. Meinklang is one of my favorite farms due to their biodynamic farming. The cow on the label dancing represents both the freeing nature of this wine as well as the cows that wander the vineyard, eating weeds and producing manure for the winemaker’s biodynamic compost.
