Meyer Family Vineyards has been crafting premium wines in the Okanagan Valley since 2006, specializing in single vineyard expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. With almost 20 acres of estate-grown grapes including our Old Main Road Vineyard on the Naramata Bench and our McLean Creek Road vineyard in Okanagan Falls, the unique micro-climates of these sites have proven to be outstanding locations for grape cultivation. In addition, we work with passionate, quality-minded growers in the East Kelowna area and Naramata Bench to round out our portfolio of terroir-driven wines.
This Pinot Noir showcases the Okanagan as a whole. The fruit is sourced from our home vineyard Mclean Creek Road Vineyard in Okanagan Falls, Reimer Vineyard in South East Kelowna and two other East Kelowna Vineyards. Both East Kelowna Vineyards are managed by Parminder Hans; one located on Teasdale Road and the other on Dehart Road
At the winery the fruit was gently de-stemmed via gravity into small open top fermenters and allowed to cold soak. After cold soaking, a mix of indigenous and cultured yeast was employed to carry out a long fermentation peaking at 30 C; gentle hand plunging of the must was done throughout. After a post maceration period the wine was gently pressed and then spent ten months in 100% older seasoned French oak barrels.
