This rich and edgy Chardonnay displays a beguiling combination of old world complexity and rich, new world fruit. The importer who sells me this wine is a university trained French sommelier, and he pointed out the similarities in this wine to a white Burgundy from Chassagne Montrachet, with a similar sensuous mouth feel and somewhat rich, creamy citrus fruit and a hint of ginger on the palate. The aromas are intense, rich and wild, with a strong creamy citrus note and the finish is smooth and complex, with an interesting slightly wild edge. It has good acidity and a wonderful roundness. A brilliant example of modern Australian winemaking.
