This dry viognier is intense, fruity and balanced - and quite a rarity, as there isn't much planted in South Africa. Big powerful floral aromas of honeysuckle, tangerine and orange blossom lead to rich, intensely flavored peach and pear in the mouth, with in smooth savory, herby edge. The finish is strong and lengthy but clean, due to excellent natural acidity. This well-balanced dry white is a natural for a range of foods, like sausage and lighter meats. A big hit at a recent tasting, people were surprised at the depth and intensity of this is a rare and delicious treat - particularly at under $20!
