Back by very popular demand, the 2014 Novellum Chardonnay from Languedoc. We featured this wine last year in an email blast and we ended up blowing through ten cases in less than two weeks. Once people got a taste of this super-value Chardonnay they came back to buy it by the caseloads. Our importer tasted us on the 2015 and while it was also lovely it was the 2014 that our customers were in love with. We were thrilled to hear that someone let loose of a five cases, we grabbed them the second we heard about it. This is the last of the 2014s folks so get it while you can.
100% Chardonnay aged in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak, on the lees, (must and spent yeast from the winemaking process) of Viognier. Wonderful richness and ripe fruit right up front. Peaches and crisp pear with a delightfully creamy mouthfeel. While quite curvy in the mouth but without any noticeable clunky oak flavors covering up the pure fruit and a bright, crisp snap on the finish. This wine drinks like it should cost three times as much.
