Quinta de Couselo belongs to the O Rosal sub-region of the Rias Baixas wine appellation in northwestern Spain. The winery itself is located in the O Rosal valley which borders the Mino river in the south and the Atlantic to the west. This area is part of Spain's green coast of the Galicia region. The Atlantic proximity delivers mild temperatures abundant rainfall with enough sunshine to fully ripen and mature the Alvarino grapes.
Vineyards are planted on loamy, deep sedimentary soils and are trellished or on Pergolas to manage the moisture in this region. Aromas and flavors are of fresh field flowers, fresh peaches, nectarines, with citrus and marine (salty) notes. Pair with oysters, seafood, blue cheese.
