To me, Carignan and Gamay have always been cousins, their relatability comes out even more when a producer adds Carbon to the Carignan during fermentation. While there is some fruit, cherries, that coats the palate, it is the floralness (think cherry blossom) and the barnyard that take mainstage. The musk from the barnyard calms down on the finish, it dries out a bit and becomes a little like hay.
