It is very hard to discover German Pinot Noir that doesn't smell and taste like it went through a smoker. When we do, we acquire it for our customers. And the new Schnaitmann is one of the few that performs like a classic. It's not a big wine--think Côte Chalonnaise--but it is a very pleasant, admirable Pinot with firm acidity in the finish. Perhaps most impressive is the terrific, lovely aroma.
