Scopetone is a tiny producer located just north of the walled town of Montalcino. Total production is around 700 bottles each year. They practice very traditional winemaking methods and organic farming. Their 2016 Rosso di Montalcino is a great example of the more savory side of Sangiovese. The classic red fruits are there but not as primary and bright. This is an elegant, smooth Sangiovese wine with earthy undertones and fine tannins.
