Brachetto is better known for producing a lightly sweet sparkling red wine but Andrea Sottimano chooses to produce a dry, still version that is just pure enjoyment in a glass. Maté is the name of the tiny plot of brachetto vines he has planted and refuses to uproot for more profitable nebbiolo vines. This wine has beautiful aromas of rose petals, fresh berries and spice. On the palate it’s light and soft with strawberry and berry flavors and hints of violets and ginger. Serve with a slight chill.
