When you see Passetoutgrain on a label from Burgundy it lets you know that the wine is a blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir, in the case of this offering from Sylvain Morey it is 67% Gamay and 33% Pinot Noir. Sylvain comes from Burgundy but moved to the south of France, the Luberon, to make wine under his own label but he does have a few holdings left of the family vineyards. The Pinot Noir for this blend comes from Sylvain’s vines in Chassagne. Very bright and tart red fruited on the nose with a tiny hint of smoke. Light and playful on the palate with lots of crunchy fruit and a brilliant little tang on the finish.
