The nose is filled with Aromas of ripe plum and dark cherries with a hint of vanilla and white pepper. As soon as it hits your tongue it is fully of soft fruit with a nice balance of minerality but complex structure and acidity that always leaves you want
Description
Rufus Stone refers to the death of King William II, who was known as Rufus. Rufus was believed to be killed by an arrow that was shot by Sir Walter Tyrrell an Ancestor of the Tyrrell winemaking Family. This 100% Shiraz was harvested from individual blocks on the vineyard and transported to the Hunter Valley Winery. The wine was matured in predominantly French Oak Barriques 20% of which was new for 18 months. The deep color hints at the intensity of the well-rounded ripe Shiraz. The nose is filled with Aromas of ripe plum and dark cherries with a hint of vanilla and white pepper. As soon as it hits your tongue it is fully of soft fruit with a nice balance of minerality but complex structure and acidity that always leaves you wanting more.
