Coteaux Bourguignons is not only difficult to say, it's not easy to understand really. It is telling you that it is a wine from Burgundy but that does not, as we normally assume, make Coteaux Bourguignons made from 100% Pinot Noir, though it can be. Coteaux Bourguignons either all Pinot Noir or Gamay, or a blend of the two and in this case, the Domaine Vigot is 100% Pinot Noir with an average vine age of 30 years. The nose is full of tart red cherries and forest floor. Lean and bright on the palate with more red cherries and a nuanced herbal note. Light enough to enjoy with heartier fish but with enough stuffing and backbone for simple pork or beef dishes.
