This Bourbon has a rustic feel to me. Could be the rye being more prevalent in the taste than most Bourbons on the market or the smaller square bottle with a straight forward label. Either way, this is a tasty Single Barrel Bourbon.
Rich butterscotch coats the palate while vibrant notes of rye create a contrast to the richness. Toasted toffee and vanilla add to the decadent characteristics of the Bourbon. The rye spice that was vibrant up front becomes much more floral on the finish, again supplying a needed contradiction in taste.
