Xavier Monnot 2019 Bourgogne, Pinot Noir

Xavier Monnot took over winemaking for his family’s estate, located in Meursault, in 2005 and began making major improvements in both the vineyards and in the cellar. 60% of the production from the estate is white wine but their reds are not to be missed. This easy drinking, silky Bourgogne just screams Burgundian Pinot Noir. The use of 15% new oak gives the wines an extra layer of texture and richness. Red fruit, smoke, mossy earth and a little vanilla on the finish. Damn handsome wine.
