Clos Alivu 2024 Rose "Patrimonio", Corsica

Patrimonio is a region in the southern part of Corsica and is to many the absolute best growing region on the island. Made from 100% Niellucciu, known as Sangiovese in the rest of the world, and grown organically though not certified as such. The Roses of Corsica are more often than not, quite pricy, likely because they are content sipping away at the tiny production of Rose they make, right there on their lovely beaches with the sea air lapping at their skin. This Rose is one of the most affordable I’ve found in the region, especially for this level. I am madly in love with the floral notes here, like flowers and wild herbs in peach juice that is loaded with citrus rind. Full in the mouth with fantastic tension. Big enough for hearty dishes, including grilled steaks and even gamier foods.
