Domaine des Pothiers 2021 Cote Roannaise, France

It was aged for 8-12 months in concrete vats and large wooden barrels. This is my first time knowingly trying Gamay Saint-Romain, and I gotta say; it reminds me of Gamay blended with Merlot. Rich bold up front, lots of black plums and pomegranate, coat the palate. Vibrant white pepper brings out some tannins, which dries your tastebuds but leaves behind a dusted coco flavor on the finish.
