Domaine Lagille N.V. "L'Inattendue" Champagne Brut

The family that still owns and operates this estate began making wine in 1818. This wine is a rare treat as it is made from 100% Pinot Meunier, a grape once considered only suitable for blending but has, as of late, become the darling variety for the younger winemaking generation. All organic. This seductive wine is reminiscent of cooked quince and yellow apples. Warm, buttery, roasted almonds and lemon rind carry through on the long, rich finish.
