Francois Chidaine 2022 Montlouis-sur-Loire "Clos du Breuil", Loire Valley

Another stunningly complex and dry offering from the master of Loire Valley Chenin Blanc. Made from one block that is located at the highest part of the appellation, from vines that average 35 years. As with his other Chenin there is some barrel used but never, ever for flavor but for texture and body. Quince, pears, river stones and a slight almond flavor. Quite full with great, silky, weight in the mouth. Fish, pork, chicken, cheeses, brunch offerings, spring rolls, goat cheeses and my favorite, one, more, glass. He is a masterful winemaker.
