Marchand-Tawse 2020 1er Cru Nuits-Saint-Georges "Les Perrieres", Burgundy

Les Perrieres is located just south of the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges and is known for its rocky limestone soils. The selected fruit for this bottling comes from vines over the age of 35. The team at Marchand-Tawse hand picks and sorts the fruit for their wines, often sacrificing up to 10% to ensure that they are getting only the top quality. This wine is showing plenty of juicy, plump fruit but there is also a delicate floral note that comes through giving the wine loads of complexity and grace. There are fine tannins but the structure is sturdy, and there is easily 15 years of life here. That said, if you just can’t wait, (and who could blame you?) give it a good splash in the decanter or glass, give it an hour to fully open and give you all that it has. Only 101 cases made.
