All About Spanish Tempranillo!

Classic Red Wines from Rioja, Ribera del Duero & Toro

We love Spanish wine for its quality-to-price ratio and Spanish Tempranillo is one of the best examples of that. These wines show completely different personalities depending on where they’re grown: Rioja brings elegance and structure, Ribera del Duero delivers power, while Toro produces fresh wines that still manage a serious intensity. These are all food-friendly, age-worthy red wines that punch well above their price point.

California’s Magnificent Red Blends

“I love red blends!” But which style? There are three main templates for red blends in California. The first is inspired by the Cab/Merlot/Cab Franc blends of Bordeaux (Meritage, anyone?). The second style is the Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre (GSM) blends inspired by the southern Rhône Valley and the south of France. The third style is the creative one, call them kitchen-sink blends, non-conformist, original. We’ll sample all three kinds today!
