Alto Moncayo 2020 Garnacha Veraton, Campo de Borja, Spain

The ‘Veraton’ is Alto Moncayo’s entry level 100% Grenache from their younger vines of 30-50 years old but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deliver anything less.  This powerful Grenache is aged in new French and American oak barrels for 16 months prior to bottling giving the wine great structure and toasty vanilla notes. Beautiful blackberry and floral aromas are followed by a modern-style wine with huge fruit and big body, balsamic and chocolate notes and sweet tannins that linger on the palate for a long time.  Only 1,500 cases of the Veraton are produced each year.
