The family of Clouet has been a fixture in Bouzy since the early 1800s and it was Andre Clouet that charmed a young Marie Antoinette by adding a few drops of his still red wine, Bouzy Rouge, into her glass of white wine, thus turning it a lovely pink. I first sampled this gorgeous, full bodied Champagne while on vacation in New York, was so enamored that I couldn’t wait to get back here and order it for the store. So imagine how bummed I was to find out it was not being represented here in SoCal, not the case anymore! Big, full of rich spice, ginger, apples and graham cracker flavors. A mouth coating Champagne for sure and a rare treat at under $45.00 considering that they only make 1.200 cases! Not think of the nerve of that factory produced “Yellow label” plonk charging what they do for not even 1er Cru fruit but million case production! Get the real deal. Stock up!
