Preposterous Price on Pinot Noir

I can count on two hands, in my history at The Wine Country, that I have been rendered speechless by a bottle of wine, time to start using those tootsies after tasting  this delightful Pinot Noir from Burgundy. Vin de France, or Vin de Bourgogne seem like secondary, or “less than” appellations but we are finding that some incredible wines are hiding there just waiting for us to discover, and share. The days of affordable Pommard and Volnay are long over, sadly, (though do NOT rule those wines out for those special occasions) but do not, for one second think that there are not, classic wines, with all their accent and charm, that we can still afford and drink on the daily. This Bourgogne Rouge is just one of those sleeper wines that make us feel like we are sort of getting away with something. Don't ya just love that?

Absolutely beaming with vibrant red fruit, tart cranberry and succulent red cherry right upfront with some sexy and beguiling secondary notes of leather and cured meat. If someone told me this wine was $50.00 I would not be shocked…that said, hearing that it was under $20?? Holy smokes, this made a somewhat shy girl want to shout from the rooftops, “YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PINOT NOIR!” Ahem, forgive me for my enthusiasm but when we find something this cool it’s hard for me to keep my mouth shut.

Classic Burgundian Pinot Noir at an astonishingly low price. We are grabbing as much as we can but don't expect this one to stick around long.
