Boeckel 2021 Pinot Blanc "Vin Non Filtre", Alsace

The Boeckl family has been in Alsace for over 400 years, and have been tied to winemaking for over 160 years and they are still family owned and operated. That’s mind bending to me, but I guess we can rest assured, these folks know a little something about making Alsatian wine. 2021 was a high acid vintage which makes it perfect for Pinot Blanc. Really pretty fruit, more quince and pear than citrus, but there is a wonderfully balanced stony note that reminds me of fresh, cold stream. Not as fruity or full as Pinot Gris this is a go-to wine for simple seafood and foul preparations, as well as a plethora of salad and vegetable dishes.
