Chateau Carbonnieux 2017 Pessac-Leognan Blanc, Bordeaux
We opened this wild white wine right after sampling a slew of bold red Bordeaux, and marveled at its liveliness. Wafts of herbaceouness, and what Samantha calls a "feral" character jumps out of the glass. In the mouth, it is equally "untamed", exploding with flavors that accentuate the dominance of the Sauvignon Blanc in the blend. "I love this wine!" enthused Samantha, as she went in for another snort and another satisfied sip. As the wine received a little more air, it became less rambunctious, never losing its humor or its liveliness.
“91 Points. The Carbonnieux 2017 Blanc gives aromas of lemon pie, lime cordial, honeysuckles and almonds with wafts of cedar and white pepper. The palate is medium-bodied, tightly wound and crisp, finishing long.”
