Clos Du Cellier Aux Moines 2023 Givry Premier Cru, Burgundy

Givry red wines often offer upfront fruit that is accessible at a young age.  While this is certainly true with this premier cru offering, there is a bit more depth than usual.  We’ve offered this pretty Côte Chalonnaise Pinot Noir for awhile, and we retried it recently.  Cherries are the main feature here, both in the medium-deep aroma and the flavor packed with loads of fruit.  With a pretty ruby color, the medium-weight red has a round texture, very appealing character and a fresh acidity that brings all those flavors into a handsome package. Happily recommended. By the way, the cellar was founded in 1120 by Cistercian monks and restored by the Pascal family in 2004.  Grapes have been growing here for nine centuries.
