Domaine de Durban 2021 Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise, Rhone Valley

Unlike the Muscats of Asti, traditional Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise fermentation is stopped by adding neutral spirits to create a delightfully sweet wine at 15% ABV.  The Leydier family has been the leader in this style sweet wine for at least 40 years. You'll enjoy the orange blossom scents and citrusy sweet flavor as either an aperitif or after-dinner wine. If you must serve this with food, it can accompany mild cheeses, not-too-sweet butter cookies or fresh berries, but stay away from creamy desserts which will swamp the sweetness in this delicacy.
