Domaine De La Fidelite 2022 Menetou-Salon "Clos De Davet", Loire Valley

The string of Sauvignon Blanc villages that stretch westward from Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre includes some lesser known villages of Reuilly, Quincy and Menetou-Salon, the latter producing softer white wines with a bit plusher textures than their more famous rambunctious counterparts.  Fidelité’s single vineyard Clos de Davet is a premium bottling for this small estate, and it tastes absolutely luxurious, as if Sancerre were wrapped in a  velvet robe.  The flavor is a tad steely, the finish clean and persistent with generous Sauvignon Blanc fruit.  This is an elegant take on Loire Sauvignon Blanc.
