Domaine Maby 2024 Tavel 'La Forcadiere', Rhone Valley

The wines from Tavel have always been the chunkier, heavier bodied cousin to the lacy roses of Provence. Mabry rose is made from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvedre. Here you get nice, deep, red berry fruit, cool dried earth and herbs. Meaty feeling on the palate with little nibbles of acidity and a finish of more red fruit. Big enough for grilled meats, but not so clunky as to overpower more subtle offerings on the table.
