Domaine Nicolas Rossignol 2020 Volnay 1er Cru "Mitans", Burgundy

The 2020 is the third vintage of Mitans from Nicolas Rossignol but this man is from Volnay and he knows those vineyards like the back of his hand. Mitans is from an ancient French word for middle, or center, which lets you know where this vineyard lies within Volnay. Rossignol has a knack for extracting darker fruit, finding plums and cherry pipe tobacco, sultry flowering herbs and cured ham. Medium to slightly heavier weight with a fine dusting of tannin. Easily hold up to 10-15 years in the cellar.
