Domaine Nicolas Rossignol 2022 Savigny Les Beaune Rouge 1er Cru "Fourneaux", Burgundy

Fourneaux has clay soils that are full of chalk and have lots of pebbles, which all add complexity. The clay gives us such nice, opulent fruit and this 2021 is better for having that. Coming from an average vine age of 30 years and farmed organically, this wine leans back into red fruited with some cassis, or black currant flowing into more earthy, slightly herbal flavors and back to fruit again. The higher acid and tannin here let you know that you can easily hold this wine for another 10 years.
