Domaine Tempier 2023 Bandol Blanc, Provence
This 18-hectare piece of land bought in 2016 is oriented east, south–east, located at 300 meters altitude. It is a terroir with an exceptional potential; its cooler orientation is what interested the estate, emphasizing the freshness of this white wine. Blended from Clairette (60%), Ugni blanc (30%) with Rolle, Bourboulenc, and Marsanne; the average age of the vines is 25-30 years. Typically one can age this for 1 to 5 years, but a much longer aging is possible to evolve towards more honeyed and marine aromas.
"A blend of 60% Clairette and 30% Ugni Blanc complemented with Rolle, Bourboulenc and Marsanne, the 2023 Bandol Blanc exhales a complex, perfumed bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, lemon, acacia flowers, spring flowers and confit citrus. Medium-bodied, textured and enveloping, it’s delicate with a fleshy mid-palate, bright acids and a long, mineral finish. This is a stunning white wine that will offer a broad drinking window. Drink from now to 2040--93 Points" Yohan Castaing, RobertParker.com
