Domaine Tempier 2020 Bandol Rouge "Lulu & Lucien", Provence
In 2020 Mrs Lucie Peyraud, better known as Lulu, passed away soon after the harvest, at the age of 103. She joined her husband Lucien in ‘Winemakers’ Paradise.’ To express the estate's gratitude to these renowned persons of the domain (and the region), the family has decided to rename the basic « Classic » cuvée: “Lulu & Lucien” upon release of the 2020 red wines. This name will no doubt live on in the years to come. We wish you a pleasant discovery of this new label, an energetic and consistent wine that resembles its namesakes. Long live the memory of Lulu and Lucien!
Mourvèdre (about75%) with Grenache and Cinsault and a smaller proportion of Carignan and Syrah.
Average age of the vines: 35 – 40 years. The wine is fermented using indigenous yeasts. Aging is done in large oak casks for a minimum of 18 months before bottling. You can age this bold red wine between 4 and 15 years, perhaps even longer.
