Famille Vaillant La Varenne Du Poirier Chenin Les Grandes Vignes, Loire Valley

 I often describe great, dry Chenin Blanc like this one as, "with the weight, body, and even power of Chardonnay but not mucked up with a bunch of oak" and this wine is just that. Dry, sultry Chenin Blanc from Anjou all organic and biodynamic. Richly textured, incredibly complex with pears, spice, yellow plums and hints of honeycomb. So long and rich on the palate with layers for days. The acidity sneaks up on you here, I wrote in my notes that, "It's like a cat playing with their prey, Pet-pet-pet, pounce!" Think white fish, chicken in lemon sauce and cheese.
