Fattoria Nittardi 2020 "Ad Astra" Maremma Toscana Rosso, Tuscany

This opulent red blend from Tuscany’s sun drenched coast will help warm your soul on these cold December nights.  Made from 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc, Nittardi’s ‘Ad Astra’ is dry, complex and layered with plenty of red and black cherry fruit, wild herbs and that unmistakable Tuscan earth.  It’s deep with flavor yet fresh and round on the palate with a long, spicy finish.  As with all Italian wine, this wine is built for pairing with food and is bold enough for hearty soups and stews, rich pasta dishes and braised or grilled meats.

Nittardi is a small, family run and certified organic winery with properties in both Chianti and the coastal Maremma region of Tuscany.  The name ‘Ad Astra’ comes from the Latin phrase “Per Aspera Ad Astra” which translates to “a rough road leads to the stars” referring to the great deal of loving work and care required in the vineyards to produce great wines.
