Francois Chidaine 2022 Vin de France "Les Argiles", Loire Valley

Though all the fruit for this wine comes from Vouvray Chidaine is not permitted to put Vouvray on the label because the wine is processed at his winery in Montlouis, which is just across the way. Petty but it doesn't take more than a deep sniff to know you are smelling, and about to drink, a wine from one of the greatest producers in the Loire Valley. Rich stone fruit, some fresh green, almost grassy notes with a mouth coating body and plenty of fleck of lemon oil on the finish. One of the best there is, and still so affordable.
