Franz Gojer 2021 St. Magdalener Classico, Sudtirol-Alto Adige

St. Magdalener is a blend of 95% Schiava and 5% Lagrein.  Schiava is a grape commonly found in the northern Alto Adige region of Italy at the base of the Dolomiti.  Schiava wines are light bodied and somewhat rustic with flavors of roasted strawberries, red cherries and wild herbs.  The Lagrein adds just a little bit of depth to the wine.  This wine from Gojer is easy drinking and delightful and not meant to be complicated.  It pairs well with charcuterie, cheeses and roasted white meats.
