G. Metz 2023 Sylvaner, Alsace

The Metz family began growing vines in Alsace in the 1920s but it wasn’t until 1936 that the family decided to focus on winegrowing fulltime. Sylvaner is a variety that thrives in Alsace and offers a wonderful dry option to the region’s more aromatic and fruit driven offerings. Metz farms all organically and the Sylvaner vines for this bottling range in age from 35-70 years old. The nose is steely with some nectarine and white peach peaking in from the back. Light to medium weight in the mouth with a snappy, mineral lifted finish.
