Hure Freres 2017 Extra Brut Champagne "Inspiration" - COMING JUNE 2024

I was on a family trip to France last October and I stopped in for a quick visit and tasting with our friends Francois and Pierre Hure in Ludes, a small village in Champagne. It had been six years since we were able to sit across from each other in person, taste and talk wine. We tasted a few of the, "standard" offerings from the domaine but at the end of the tasting Francois said, "I've got something new, really cool, and I think your store might be the perfect place for it" I was intrigued, of course and I gleefully held out my glass for a sip. "We only made 494 bottles and I only have 60 bottles for California" Francois' words floating around me in a spiral as I brought the glass to my nose, "I will take them all" the words that fell from my lips after taking my second sip. I was a goner and I knew our customers needed to taste this thrilling wine.
